Gedê — A scalable scheduling platform

Co-founder & Product Designer — Led product strategy, UX architecture and core user flows for a dual-sided scheduling platform

problem

Small service businesses struggle to manage appointments efficiently due to fragmented workflows, manual scheduling, and low digital maturity. Even when digital tools are available, adoption is low because they fail to reflect real operational routines. The challenge was to design a scheduling product that could be realistically adopted, validated in real use, and scaled beyond a single business.

solution

Gedê was designed as a lightweight scheduling platform focused on reducing friction for both customers and business owners. The solution introduced a linear, mobile-first booking flow for customers, while providing business owners with a clear management interface for services, schedules, and daily operations. By separating customer and manager experiences and prioritizing essential actions over advanced customization, the product delivers immediate value while remaining flexible for future expansion. During the MVP testing phase, Gedê was adopted by a partner barbershop and used to schedule over 200 recurring clients within two months. This validation confirmed the viability of the core flows, highlighted friction points in early versions, and guided iterative improvements focused on speed, clarity, and day-to-day usability.

Gedê was born from a real operational problem faced daily by small service businesses such as barbershops and independent professionals.

Most of these businesses rely on manual scheduling through messaging apps, leading to missed appointments, pricing confusion, no-shows, and a lack of operational overload. Existing tools often fail due to complexity and low adoption among low-tech users.

As co-founder and Product Designer, I led the definition of the product vision, UX architecture, and core user flows. The challenge was not to build a feature-heavy system, but to design a fast, intuitive platform that could be adopted with minimal learning curve while still supporting daily operations.

The MVP was tested and validated in partnership with a local barbershop, where the platform supported the scheduling of 200+ recurring clients over a 2-month testing period. This real-world usage informed iterative improvements and reinforced the importance of clarity, speed, and operational simplicity.

Gedê was designed as a dual-sided product, balancing customer booking speed with business management needs, while remaining scalable for future expansion.
